Crossed Sets

Overlaps and speciation: Ligers, minotaurs, labradoodles,
                                                                                            guppies that glow,

The many shapes of finches’ beaks.
Red hair of Neanderthals.

Every culture puts one animal’s head
on another animal’s body
And teaches their young
                                         to fear it.
